1970’s Conn Director Shooting Stars Awesome condition used Student trumpet, with excellent condition used original hard shell case, with used ultrasonically cleaned Conn 4 mouthpiece in good shape, new valve oil and grease.
-I am selling this as a trumpet player, not an estate sale, yard sale, no nothing person.

– 1970’s model. This trumpet was made in Japan. (reportedly by Yamaha as a subcontractor). In 1971 Conn moved their production factory from Indiana to Texas, and as to not lose customers for student trumpets and market share, they contracted out to Yamaha for a couple of years.
– Excellent player ! A solid student beginner trumpet! I have gone thru this trumpet extensively, cleaned, lubricated, checked all corks, pads, springs, valves are fast, all slides free. There are no loose joints or braces. Horn is straight. I have test played this horn and you will not be disappointed. Great player ! Great tone, intonation, slotting. I guarantee you will get a great playing horn.
That said, it does have imperfections as a 50 y/o trumpet would … but overall it’s a winner! It has some age, wear and tear and scratches in the lacquer. Not bad. It has one ding on the bell on the engraving area near the marching band hat. NO large dents! Not being all banged up, it presents well, looks decent. Just use a bit of Flitz or Simichrome non abrasive polish on some of the worn lacquer areas to keep this horn looking great! I do not see any red rot on this horn.
